The social networking empire is expanding on new grounds

Finally a Facebook phone

"Facebook phone" has finally proven a reality. As the ever changing tech scene suggests, your next mobile phone wont be an Iphone 4S, Samsung NEXUS or a Moto Razor, it will most probably be a Facebook phone nicknamed Buffy ( based on the TVseries by the same name ) which the social network that won million's hearts will be native on, in an unprecedented way, tech web site AllThingsD reports.

The rumour for a Facebook phone was around for a couple of years now but this is the major news break that hints that the social networking giant is after more smarter steps.

According to the original news story, the first hardware manufacturer chosen had been Samsung, but finally they have betrothed with HTC since they unconditionally provided dedicated Facebook buttons in their recent phones, namely Salsa
and ChaCha

This is not the first time Facebook worked closely with tech giants to integrate Facebook into handsets. It has previous experiences with Research in Motion and Palm on same kind of tech ventures.

However both Facebook and HTC had been reluctant on commenting on the story.

Facebook will tweak archrival's open software platform, Android and the social-networking technology will be deep rooted into the core of the device. Thus the phone itself will be different from others devices that only provide simple initiation of the network's mobile version with dedicated buttons.

" What the company plans to achieve by building its own devices is not yet known. If it chooses to build its own "Facebook phone," the company faces stiff competition in the smartphone market from players such as Apple's iPhone and Google's Android platform", Cnet cites the story.

Facebook offerd statement to the story is "Our mobile strategy is simple: We think every mobile device is better if it is deeply social. We're working across the entire mobile industry; with operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers to bring powerful social experiences to more people around the world."

With the frosty news revelation that will certainly chill some's spines, now a fatal question is awaken, will Buffy realy be a smart phone slayer?
